This is second Sun temple in our AP state next to Arasavilli Suryanarayana swamy temple in Srikakulam District and also the eighth temple in our country. It is built South face and is the only one declared in India in that model. Lord Yama is the deity for the south direction and being the son of Surya (Sun god) the idol is on south face.
