Brief History of Sri Ranganatha Swamy Temple:
The Temple is facing Eastwards and the idol of the deity Lord Sri Ranganatha Swamy is placed in the santum. It is on a 7-hooded sheshavahana holding Shanka and Chakra in its hands. The consorts of the Lord, Sridevi and Bhudevi, are seated at the feet of Sri Ranganatha Swamy. The Temple consists of Garbhagriha, Antharala and Mukha Mandapa constructed with huge stone blocks. The Mukha Mandapa pillars carved with the figures of Lakshmi Narsimha, Yoga Narasimha, Vanara etc. add beauty to the temple construction. There is an inscription in the Mandapa which describes that the construction of the temple was made in 1584 A.D. during the reign of Sri Rangadeva Mahadeva Rayalu.
