Location: 85 Nitturu Village (Lat. 14°4407.7N; Long. 78°0342.6E) in Yellanur Mandal, located at a 20 Kms away from Tadipatri of Ananthapuramu District and one can reach from Tadipatri to 85 Nittur towards South-East on road.

Brief History of Sri Chennakesava swamy temple:

It has an ancient Sri Chennakesava swamy temple facing west. The Temple has Padmalaya and Garbhalaya walls built with dressed stone upto 12 Feet. The temple garbhalaya was built with bricks and lime. Its height is 25 Feet and it has architectural and sculpture wealth which belongs to Vijayanagara period. There is an inscriptional stone laid at the entrance of the Mahadwara. It had 45 lines and other side 62 lines which deal with the importance of the temple and its donors and the Mahagopura has 3 stories. It was built with stone pillar and beams with linked lotus upto 15 feet. Remaining part of the gopuram was built with lime and bricks with tecco figures. A prahari (compound wall) exists round the temple it was built with dressed big sized stones 8 feet height. The temple has archaeological, historical and epigraphical evidences.
