PALLIKONDA (HILL FORT)

Location: Pallikonda Hill Fort (Pallikonda fort) (Lat. 15°05‘36.7”N; Long. 77°22‘37.1”E) is a hillfort connecting Konakondla and Gulya Palyam villages. It is at distance of 5 kms near Guntakal, on Guntakal – Uravakonda Road.

Brief History of Pallikonda Hill Fort:

Pallikonda Hill Fort is locally known as Pallikonda fort. This fort on the small hillock is believed to be constructed during the Paleygaru period of Vijayanagara Empire. It is in ruins due to the long period of neglect and vandalism during the last century.
