Brief History of Bheemalingeswara swamy temple:

Bheemalingeswara swamy temple, also known as Bhimeswara temple, is the prominent place of worship in the village. It is a building over the Samadhi (Tomb) of poet Bhimalinga. There is no image within the sanctum sanctorum. His figure is painted on a wooden plank.  In the front of it, there are two figures carved on a silver plate. It is these figures that are worshipped by the devotees. The Temple faces East and infront of the temple there is a dhwajasthambhaim. It is 50 feet height at the top of the which an iron lamp is lighted.

There is a spacious mandapam in front of the samadhi and smaller mandapams on other sides. On the walls to the North and South of the sanctum sanctorum the images of Ganapathi etc., are well carved. The tomb of the horse that Bheemakavi rode is in the front of the Mukhamandapam.
