Location: Malla Obula Narasimha Swamy Temple (Lat. 14°4014.5N; Long. 77°2503.4E) is on a top of hillock towards North side of the Pampunuru village. It is situated 15 kms from Ananthapuramu District Headquarters town on Ananthapuramu – Kalyandurgam road.

 

Brief History of Malla Obula Narasimha Swamy Temple:

 

The Pre-Historic cave was converted in to a cave temple. It belongs to the late Vijayanagara period and local Palegars have added few more structures to facilitated to the conveniences of pilgrims.  A rock cut pound can also be seen on the top of the Hill.

 

The temple facing to the East and consists of Garbhagriha, Antharala and closed Mukha Mandapa of later Vijayanagara period. The deity was Lord Narasimha swamy made of granite stone is placed in the garbhagriha. He holds a sankha in his rear right hand, chakra in his rear left hand, a club in his front left hand and the front right hand is in abhaya posture.
